→ What is the Portfolio Dashboard?

OnsiteIQ’s Portfolio Dashboard surfaces synthesized data from both Progress Tracking and Milestone Insights to provide high level actionable indicators of risk across a portfolio of projects at a glance. These actionable Indicators of risk include ‘Estimated Total Progress’, monthly ‘% Change’, ‘Total Progress History Production Rate Chart’, and recent ‘Milestone Activity’ all at the individual overall project level.

→ What is ‘Estimated Total Progress’ and how is it calculated?

Estimated Total Progress leverages milestone totals from Progress Tracking data and uses an aggregated weighted average to calculate a consolidated an overall % complete for each project. Each time our Capture Specialists collect data, Progress Tracking data is automatically generated for each walkthrough which is then aggregated up into milestone totals at the project level. These totals are then aggregated into a single % complete for the entire project using a default weighted average that’s based in construction logic shown in the table below.

→ What is ‘% Change’ and how is it calculated?

% Change simply represents the amount of overall progress made in the last 30 days

% Change** = [Estimated Total Progress % Today] - [Estimated Total Progress % 30 days ago]

E.g. After capturing the project on March 9th, Estimated Total Progress was calculated to have reached 57%, 30 days prior it was 49%, so In this case, % Change will show 8%.

→ What is Total Duration within the Portfolio Dashboard Drawer and how is it calculated?

Total Duration represents the total number of days (if 30 days or less) or weeks that have passed since OnsiteIQ first detected activity for milestone(s) (e.g. the milestone became ‘active’).

E.g. if 23 days have passed since OnsiteIQ first detected progress, 23 days will be displayed

E.g. if 35 days have passed since OnsiteIQ first detected progress, that is more than 30 days, so will be displayed in weeks. 35÷7= 5, so 5 weeks will be displayed

E.g. if 72 days have passed since OnsiteIQ first detected progress, 72÷7= 10.3, so we will round up and 11 weeks will be displayed

→ What is ‘Milestone Activity’ within the Portfolio Dashboard Drawer and how is it calculated?

Milestone Activity is a section intended to display a range of different project milestones on a given project and categorizes them based on activity status thresholds such as Active, Started, and Competed. Listed below are those activity definitions:

  • [Active] Project milestones with the greatest amount of progress activity or % change in the last 30 days. Calculated by [Milestone Total Progress % Today] - [Milestone Total Progress % 30 days ago] for each in progress milestone and sorted in descending order.

  • [Started] Project milestones that had initial progress activity in the last 30 days. Calculated by [Count of Milestones where Value 30 Days Ago = 0 and Current Value > 0] and sorted in descending order based on date of start.

  • [Completed] Project milestones that reached 100% completion in the last 30 days. Calculated by [Milestones = 100%, where milestone ≠ 100% in the last 30 days] and sorted in descending order based on date of completion.

→ Are there any types of projects that are not eligible for Portfolio Dashboard progress metrics?

Projects that display Portfolio Dashboard progress metrics require Progress Tracking to be enabled. There are a few asset types we deem to be ineligible for Progress Tracking, which includes complex stadiums, hospitals, recording studios, and partial renovation projects. These assets types are very unique and often have complex design/construction specifications. The complicated scope and nature of this projects makes it challenging for our software to accurately assess and track completion. We are working towards accommodating progress tracking for these asset types once we complete more thorough data training.

→ What is 'Baseline Completion?'

Baseline Completion is a column in which the Substantial Completion date from the Baseline Schedule. This date generates a dotted trend line on the Total Progress History Production Rate Chart within the Project Overview Side Drawer. (You can view this by clicking on on the Estimated Total Progress bar, % Change, or the Baseline Completion Date for a particular project or building of a project). Please reach out to your Customer Success Manager or OnsiteIQ point of contact in order to populate this date.
