Add Users to an Account or a Project

OnsiteIQ - Symbol - Black.png

This tutorial covers adding people to a whole account or to a single project.

Things to Consider

  • Adding people at the account level gives them access to every project in that account. Adding them at the project level gives them access to one job.

  • You need a role that permits it: Account Admin or Account Collaborator to add users to an account, Project Admin or Project Collaborator to add them to a project.

  • If you do not have it, ask an Account Admin on your team, or start a chat from the message icon in the lower left of OnsiteIQ.

Add users to an account

  1. Click the gear icon at the bottom of the left sidebar to open Settings.

  2. If you work across more than one account, choose the right one from the dropdown at the top of the Settings panel.

  3. Under Account, click Users.

  4. Click Add user.

  5. Enter the email addresses. You can paste several at once separated by commas, semicolons, or line breaks.

  6. Choose a Role. This defaults to Account Collaborator. See Account Roles and Project Roles Explained if you are not sure which fits.

  7. Click Add to account.

Add users to a single project

  1. Open Settings, then click All projects under Projects.

  2. Click the project you want. It opens with a Users tab and a Details tab.

  3. On the Users tab, click Add user.

  4. Enter the email addresses, choose a Role (defaults to Project Collaborator), and click Add to project.

A faster route. If you are already looking at a project, click Share in the top right. The Invite team members section does the same thing, and the same dialog is where you would create a public view-only link. See Share a Project or Create a Public Link.

What the person receives

Everyone you add gets an email invitation to join. Until they accept, they appear in the Users table as a pending user, and you can resend the invitation from the actions menu at the end of their row.

If someone says their invitation link does not work

If they have already completed onboarding, OnsiteIQ now sends them to the login screen rather than showing an expired-invitation message. Have them sign in with the email address you invited, and use Forgot password if they do not remember it.
