This article explains the two layers of access in OnsiteIQ: account roles and project roles.
How access works
Access in OnsiteIQ works in two layers. An account role covers an entire account and every project in it. A project role covers one project only. A person can have one, the other, or both.
Account roles
Account Admin — manages the account and all its projects. Able to invite users, delete users, make role changes
Account Collaborator — can view the account and all projects projects, invite users, and make limited role changes
Account Viewer — can only view the account and all projects
Project roles
Project Admin — manages the project and its users
Project Collaborator — can view the project and its users, invite users, and upgrade viewers to collaborator
Project Viewer — can only view the project
Reading the dash
In the Users table, a dash (—) in the Account role column means the person has no account-level role and their access comes from individual projects. A dash in the Project role column means they have no role set directly on that project, so their access comes from their account role instead.
Which layer should I use?
Give an account role to someone who needs the whole portfolio. Give a project role to someone who should only a specific project(s).
Where to see roles
Account roles: click the gear icon at the bottom of the left sidebar, then Users under Account.
Project roles: gear icon, then All projects, then select a project and stay on the Users tab.
Both tables have a "What do the roles mean?" info icon next to the role column header.
